Since 1984 Pat Nunley has advised professionals, executives, managers, employees, business owners,
entrepreneurs and others in the course of a thriving legal career spent entirely with the Texas law
firm Naman, Howell, Smith & Lee, L.L.P. For each of the last 10 years of his law practice, Pat was
the top individual producer of working attorney revenue for his firm. He achieved this level of
production through his development and implementation of various strategies for client
development, work efficiency and profitability, team building, and legal assistant usage and
training.
As part of a 50 lawyer, multilocation law firm, Pat learned that there was much more to a successful
law practice than an intimate knowledge of the law. He also learned that the realities of a busy
professional practice do not afford convenient opportunities for taking charge of practice
development activities. It became apparent to him that professionals need encouragement,
coaching, and follow up to do so.
After an accomplished career as a college basketball player at Baylor University, Pat moved
courtside as the color analyst on the Baylor University Basketball Radio Network, a position he has
held since 1982. During the course of his longtime relationship with college athletics, Pat witnessed
firsthand the profound results that ongoing, effective and committed coaching can produce in
empowering individuals, teams, and organizations to exceed expected levels of performance.
His passion for the motivation and inspiration of individuals, teams, and organizations in their
pursuit of excellence, and his experience in managing a productive law practice, led him to pursue
his vision of creating an organization devoted to helping others exceed expectations while finding a
deeper sense of purpose, fulfillment and well-being in the process.
Nunley Professional Development, LLC, is the realization of that vision.
